
Moab Moon Mission: June 9th, 2025
Join me on an epic moonscape photography adventure! I do the planning for a thrilling moon shoot, you come along for the ride! I’ll show you the planning techniques, and teach you everything you need to know to come away with beautiful photos of the moon with someone in front of it (model\s arranged by you). Rough Itinerary:
6:15 - Meetup at Sandflats entrance, then drive to our trailhead
6:30 - Hike to location, approximately 1 mile.
7:00 - Talk about planning, camera settings, and setup, etc.
8:20 - Moon photos, then hike back to car
9:15 (approx) - Arrive back to cars
What’s Included:
•If needed, transportation to and from our shooting location. I can either pick you guys up from any location in town, or we’ll arrange to meet near Sand Flats entrance.
•Photography instruction and guidance in the field, including:
-Planning apps and how to use them to find and plan photos with precision.
-Choosing the best camera settings based on lighting and other conditions to get the best exposure possible.
-I’ll be sharing knowledge and tips about getting the most out of a moon shoot, and will be able to answer any questions you have along the way.
What to bring:
•Camera with recommended lens 300mm or greater.
•Tripod
•Drinking water for each person
•Headlamps\flashlights for each person
•Optional: Remote shutter trigger for camera
Refunds & Cancellations:
Cancellations made at least 2 days (48 hours) in advance of the Moon Mission will receive a full refund, minus a 7% processing fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the trip will receive a 50% refund, minus a 7% processing fee.
Fortunately, we have clear skies most of the time in Moab, however in the case of a crazy storm, the trip could be canceled, in which case a full refund would be given. If we arrive at the scene and the moon is not visible due to clouds, you can join any future moon missions at no additional cost until the moon is visible. I cannot be responsible for wind, weather, rain, heat, or other unforeseen circumstances. I reserve the right to change locations, cancel, or reschedule trips due to unsafe or extreme conditions.
