
July 31st, 2025 - Milky Way Photography Trip
We’ll visit 2 sites for Milky Way photography near Sorrel River Ranch. I’ll pick you up at 9:20pm and we’ll head head out for some Milky Way goodness. Along the way I’ll provide as much personalized instruction and tips as you’d like to take your photography to the next level.
Duration: Approximately 3 hours, with pickup at 9:20PM, return at approximately 12:20PM
What’s Included:
•Transportation for the duration of the trip. I’ll pick you up from Sorrel River Ranch
•Photography instruction and guidance in the field, including (if desired):
-Planning apps and how to use them to find and plan photos with precision.
-Choosing the best camera settings based on lighting and other conditions to get the best exposure possible.
-I’ll be sharing knowledge and tips about getting the most out of a Milky Way shoot, and will be able to answer any questions you have along the way.
What to bring:
•Camera with memory card and charged batteries
•Recommended lens for astrophotography is wide angle and has aperture of f2.8 or wider (lower value)
•Tripod
•Light for walking around at night, headlamp preferable. I have extra if needed.
•Water and snacks
